Summary:
She was 5 years-old at DFD, she was raped
then murdered then raped. On 10-Mar-06 her body was found in a shed and after
several weeks and over 100 people interviewed the police arrested Shawn and
charged him with First-degree murder and having sex with her dead body.
He was in police custody at the time for
sexual assault and burglary incident that happened on 14-Jan-06 but the charges
were eventually stayed. His trial was set for 7-Jun-06.

passenger on the snowmobile that hit an electrical pole killing him and
severely injuring the female driver. The two were drinking
heavily before leaving the Ikkaqivik bar shortly before the accident.
She was arrested and charged in connection

She was 39 years-old at DFD, she was
strangled in her home by her common-law husband, whom she had a restraining
order against on 10-Feb-00.
Kootoo had breached his conditions not to drink
but failed to arrest him until after his wife was found dead. He was arrested
on 10-Feb-00 and charged with Second-degree murder. On 11-Feb-00 he was found
Guilty and sentenced to Life in prison with no chance of parole for 12 years on
11-Apr-01. She is survived by a 5 year-old daughter, Mily.

Summary:
He was 31 years-old at DFD, he was last
seen at the Aqpik Jam music festival on 20-Aug-04 and three weeks later his
body was found by the Kuujjuaq Inn partially eaten by the local dogs. He was
under the care of regional social services authorities which provides services
to Nunavut residents suffering from mental illness. He suffered from epileptic
seizers which required medication to ensure his safety. He checked into his
flight to Inukhuak, but never showed up at departure time.
An inquest was made into the social
services with there handling of his case and over 30 dog were killed during
then investigation.

stabbed and strangled to death then raped by Eli in Aug-88. He was arrested in
Aug-88 and found guilty of manslaughter and sentence to Life an appeal later
reduced sentence to 15 years. He was granted full parole in 1-Jun-03 after
serving 8 years.
Eli was 32 years-old at DOA, when he was
arrested on 7-Oct-00 and charged with First-degree murder in connection with his
parole officer’s murder. He struck Louise in the head 5 times with a hammer,
strangled her to death then raped her. On 22-Feb-06 he pled guilty to
Second-degree murder and was sentenced to Life in prison with no possibility
for parole for 15 years.
