Summary:
She was ___ years-old at
DFD, Her blood alcohol level was 0.34 at DFD. She died some time between 1981 and 1987.
It is believed that she went with Gilbert to
a hotel room that he paid for in his own name for a drinking binge. Gilbert
paid her to drink as much as possible until she passed out. Gilbert would then
have sex with her before she died from alcohol poisoning.
There was no investigation into her death,
Coroners report stats she died from alcohol poising and ruled her death as
accidental. Even after it became apparent that her death was deliberate the
case was not re-opened for investigation because she was a drinker they felt
there was no need to investigate Gilbert for her murder.
During Gilbert’s trail prosecution use the death of 10 un-named
first nations women and 4 un-named first nations women during the 6 week
surveillance to establish the same pattern Gilbert used to prey on vulnerable
women who had their own addiction problems by offering them booze and sometimes
offering to pay them to drink, which the Judge allowed to be entered under the
believe that further charges would be placed against Gilbert for those crimes.
Gilbert admitted to being with these women and providing them the alcohol and
being the only one with them when they died. Gilbert admitted during his
testimony that he paid the women to drink and to have sex with him. No further
charges were ever laid against Gilbert for these deaths.
Gilbert died on 7-Jul-06 at the age
of 75.

Summary:
She was 29 years-old at DFM, she went
missing from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside on 1-Aug-01, was reported to
the Vancouver RCMP as missing by her parents on 22-Aug-01. She was
‘mentally handicapped’ with a mental capacity of a 12 year-old. Her
DNA was one of the first found on the Roberts Coquitlam pig farm. It is
believed that her body was dismembered and fed to the animals on the farm.
Robert was arrested and charged with
multiple counts of First-degree murder on 22-Feb-02. Roberts trail was set for
8-Jan-07.
An 18 month investigation on the farm found
approximately 32 different female DNA sources through out the property.
Only 27 charges were originally placed
against Robert with approximately 4 other women’s cases either pending
identification or more evidence to be found. Judge James Williams placed a
publication ban on court proceedings on 6-Dec-02. He also rejected one
un-identified female for lack of evidence on 2-Mar-06. On 9-Aug-06 he reduced
the charges again from 26 to 6 counts with the opportunity to seek another
trail for the other 20 cases after the conclusion of the first trail.
On 9-Dec-07 after 9 days of deliberation
the jury returned a verdict of ‘Guilty to six counts of Second-degree
murder’.
On 11-Dec-07 BC Supreme Court Judge James
Williams sentenced Robert to life, serving six life sentenced concurrently with
no eligibility for parole for 25 years.
