Summary:
She was 3 years-old at EDOD, foster parents admitted using a harness to
pin Savannah in her crib at night. Her Foster mother claims that she found Savannah
in the crib having trouble breathing and called for paramedics. Savannah was
brought to the hospital and died 2 days later from undetermined injuries.
The
Coroners report showed neglect, unexplainable bruises, excessive brain swelling
and advanced hypothermia. The coroner who did the initial investigation asked
for an inquest and stated that some of the injuries that Savannah had were not consistent
with accidental injuries.
No
inquest was granted even though the coroner wrote the death down as
‘troubling’ and ‘undetermined’; the Foster Parents were
never investigated for her death. There were several requests from the BC
Coroners Services (BCCS) staff members and from the parents lawyer Michael Ross
to have an inquest into her death.
The BC
Coroners Service decided on 7-Apr-06 to reopen the investigation in to her
death. On 3-Nov-07 the Coroner’s inquest turned in their verdict along
with 26 recommendations for changes. The inquest ruled Savannah’s death
as a homicide after two weeks of testimony.
Soon
after the Coroner’s deliberation results the RCMP state that her case is
still under investigation and no charges are to be brought forth at this time.

Summary:
She was 24 at DFM; she was last seen on
28-Oct-96. She was reported missing on 3-Nov-96. Her DNA was found on the
Robert’s Coquitlam pig farm. It is believed that her body was dismembered
and fed to the animals on the farm.
Robert was arrested and charged with
multiple counts of First-degree murder on 22-Feb-02. Robert’s trail was
set for 8-Jan-07.
An 18 month investigation on the farm found
approximately 32 different female DNA sources through out the property. Only 27
charges were originally placed against Robert with approximately 4 other
women’s cases either pending identification or more evidence.
Judge James Williams placed a publication
ban on court proceedings on 6-Dec-02. He also rejected one un-identified female
for lack of evidence on 2-Mar-06. On 9-Aug-06 he reduced the charges again from
26 to 6 counts with the opportunity to seek another trail for the other 20
cases after the conclusion of the first trail.
