Summary:
She was 20 years-old at DFD, she was found by hotel staff in a
Lloydminster Motel room on 2-Oct-06. She had been beaten and strangled.
Gordon was arrested and charged with First-degree murder in connection
with Jarita’s death. His prelim hearing was set for 19-Dec-05 and the charges
were dropped from First-degree to Second-degree murder. His trail date was set
for 10-Sept-07. On 5-Oct-07 Gordon was found guilty and was sentenced to Life
with no change of parole for 13 years. On 30-Oct-07 Gordon appealed the decision
and asked for a new trail on basis that the jury was not given proper
instructions from the judge on how to
deliberate.
